Writer and master storyteller Abdelkader Benali tells his thousand and one nights in a captivating way in an enchanting performance. In it we meet the tyrant of Baghdad. After being cheated in love, he swears revenge. Every night he takes a young virgin as his wife and has her killed the next morning. Shahrazade is convinced that she can cure the tyrant of his vengefulness by telling him stories. She lets her father marry her off to the tyrant and starts writing her first story. In this way she hopes not only to turn her own fate, but also to save all other women. Will she succeed? The stories are framed by classical music, inspired by the Orient. A film is only as good as its soundtrack. Tension, love, sadness, all emotions only really come to life when the music starts to sound. With Classical Soundtracks, stories from the audience and the musicians form the script. During the performance, the audience is asked to share an anecdote or personal story. Club Classique was founded in 2011 in Café de Klepel! Since then, we have been meeting up in a pub for a classical jam session every last Sunday of the month. With a drink next to the music stand, we play the most beautiful chamber music all evening long. Over the years, the entire Dutch music world has come by to play along. Top musicians in a relaxed setting ensure top evenings. For a year now, it has been a regular fixture in Thúskomme in Amsterdam-Oost.

Since 2021, we have been organizing the grand Moonlight Concert in August during the Weekend of Romantic Music in the Park at the Euromast in Rotterdam. A large stage, a large audience, an impressive line-up of musicians and an evening full of musical spectacle are the ingredients that make the Moonlight Concert unforgettable. Musicians and artists who participated in this concert are: Dominic Seldis, Thomas Beijer, Laetitia Gerards, Henk Neven, Eric Vaarzon Morel, Geert Chatrou, Fay Loren, Sven Ratzke, Julia Philippens, Benjamin Herman, Karin Strobos, Raoul Steffani and Floris Kortie.

How do you get to know someone who lived almost a century earlier? That question brought Club Classique and Gershwin Bonevacia together. It is not without reason that his poems breathe music, Bonevacia feels related to his namesake. The search for meaning in life creates a bond between the two. What’s in a name? Does your name determine who you become?

In Gershwin we get to know the two namesakes and the similarities that connect them. But it is also precisely the differences that make the story so compelling. George lives exuberantly and grandly and seeks adventure outside himself, while the more introverted Bonevacia looks inward and finds meaning in real connections with family and loved ones. The First Time
In The First Time, Myrthe, together with writer Thomas Verbogt and pianist Frank van de Laar, pays tribute to first experiences. All the big things that happen for the first time in your life last a lifetime; big emotions, big sensations, moments of great happiness. The First Time is a melancholic but also light performance. An intimate combination of music and words. A tingling event.

The Francis and Dominic Show offers a unique insight into the personal lives of two famous musicians. Soprano Francis van Broekhuizen and double bassist Dominic Seldis provide an entertaining show full of humor and good music. Through their own favorite songs, you get to know them from a completely different side. The Francis & Dominic Show cannot be compared to other concerts. It is a combination of opera, pop music, personal stories and audience participation. Experience it yourself.
